Our Children’s Project operates an extensive international aid program which provides treatment medications and medical supplies to clinics and doctors treating cancer patients in developing and impoverished countries. We also provide medicine and supplies to aid medical professionals in the treatment and prevention of the side effects of cancer including lymphoedema and treatment-related infections.

Through our Children’s Project, Cancer Recovery Foundation UK has partnered with mission hospitals, medical clinics and healthcare providers in Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Kenya, the Philippines and Viet Nam. Without this important program, literally thousands of cancer patients would simply not be able to receive the medical attention that is required for survival.

Location: Zimbabwe
Time: November 2014
Donated Inventory: Cancer drugs, anti-bacterial medicines, anti-fungal medicines
About Spiritage Health/Southmed Chitungwiza Hospital: The health systems in Zimbabwe suffer from shortages in human resources, health financing, medicines and equipment. In his August 20, 2014 letter of application for essential medications to Children’s Cancer Recovery Foundation, Dr Mathew Wazara states that, “While Zimbabwe has an elaborate network of clinics and hospitals, the current economic downturn has left many of them without basic medical essentials such as antibiotics, pain medicine, antiseptic solutions, dressings and bandages.” He adds that, “if we were able to secure such items and pass them on at no charge, they would go a long way towards enhancing access to healthcare for individuals who would have either no access at all or could not afford care in institutions that charge for these.”

Donee: Zion Ministries/San Felipe Hospital

Honduras is the second poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere after Haiti, with 44% of the population living on less than $2 a day and a life expectancy of 67 years. With only 330 beds, San Felipe Hospital is forced to tend to over 283,000 patients a year, including both admitted and outpatients. The hospital has had serious shortages of basic medicines. How your gifts help

“Thank you for your donation of cancer medicines and medical supplies. We are in such desperate need for these donations. Guatemala’s economy is getting worse with no end in sight and because of this half of the population is under the poverty line or in extreme poverty. That’s why your donation is a god send for all of us”

– Roberto A. Gramajo R. Sovereign Order of Malta

“Thanks to you, Cancer Recovery Foundation UK, for your generous donation of the Gardasil Vaccine. The Rural Women’s Initiative for Development and Empowerment (RUWIDE), working with the Ministry of Health in Ghana, will be using the vaccine to protect 32,000 young girls between 9 and 13 years old from HPV which can cause cervical and breast cancer”
