As part of our Bear-able Gift Bag Programme we send toys to children all over the UK who are living in hospital or are making regular visits due to their cancer treatment. By running a toy drive you can help provide these children with wonderful games, books, toys, dolls and craft activities that will distract them from their treatment and allow them to enjoy some valuable playtime with family and friends.
Hosting a toy drive is easy, simply pick a date, choose your location then ask people to turn up and donate a new toy for a child with cancer. You could ask a local toy store or supermarket to get involved and host the event, thus offering those already shopping a chance to donate. But a youth club, scout hall, church or community centre all make great donation points.
We send out over 3,000 gift bags every year to children living with cancer and in each gift bag we try to include a minimum of 8 items but we wish it was more, and we really need your support to help make that happen.
